Beng Poh is just beside Good Year Seafood Village yet it seemed many people do not notice this zi char eatery. They serve delicious dishes and one of my favourites is their steamed shark's head with crispy chye poh in light soy sauce. They also do a better job with their garlic pork than Good Year. I feel both eateries are neck to neck with hits and misses. This place do not have aircon.
This place is a challenge to get to if you don't drive, hidden off tracks near an industrial area, flanked by many Chinese temples along the round. No rules for parking, as long as you don't block others. That's the beauty of it, you can eat in peace without worrying about parking attendant coming to book you. Food is wonderful, it's mainly "zhi char", love the flavours. Not overly done, humble service staff with smiles gives it a friendly kampong feel. Don't expect Michelin star food, but heart-warming dishes.
